A1 George III Adam Oval Mirror
This oval carved and giltwood frame, in the George III style of the late 18th century, is enriched by the acanthus leaf cresting supporting a tapered and fluted bracket headed by an anthemion spray. The moulded frame is decorated with beads and gadrooning, all flanked by trailing garlands of bell-flowers uniting the cresting and with a gathered acanthus leaf spray forming the apron. Shown in a gilded finish using 23.5ct gold leaf.
